TREPS

ost of the demand for fitness certifications is from young adults who wish to pursue an active and meaningful career, and also those who wish to pursue a second career after corporate life. Women show a lot of interest in a career in fitness and health. One of the problems Sport Industry Association aims to solve is making trainings and events more accessible, to allow for diversity and equal opportunity for disadvantaged groups in the fitness profession.

Turkey has taken part in the EU platform for voluntary cooperation between Member States in vocational education and training (VET) namely the Copenhagen process, and the Bologna Processes.

Based on these commitments, it is necessary to align VET qualifications and higher education outcomes to provide a lifelong guidance program for fitness professionals. To maintain this, a system for registering all learning, from credits courses, formal learning and work experience is needed for the sustainability of impacts.

The national system for registration has to be linked to European registration systems such as European Register for Exercise Professionals (ereps). This will correspond to the needs for lifelong guidance and continuing education needed by learners.
